Converting Scanned files to Kindle file format

Amazon Kindle Reader Ebook Conversion for Publishers and Authors

We have received many calls from numerous authors and publishers who have scanned their books and then used different vendors to perform the OCR and eventually they found the "converted" file is a formatting nightmare when they tried to convert it to other format.

This is a case for many old cookbooks which are having trouble in OCR due to their measurements in integers (like add 1 1/8 cup) and other formatting of tables. We have converted many old cookbooks where publishers have combined their favorite content from 3-4 books into in one book.

Many of our clients ask us to first convert the paperback hard copy or scanned book to MS word as this allows them to make any new changes in the word file (add new photos, acknowledgement, few edits etc). Once the client makes changes in the converted MS Word document, they send us the file for converting to kindle format. The client also uses the MS word file to convert to PDF and sell it as eBook through different ebook store.

We have converted many old books to kindle and MS word for different authors and publishers by conducting OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on the scanned files sent to us by the author/publisher.

Our Kindle Conversion Process is as follows:

  • Email us the scanned file. If the file size is too big, we can download it from your website or else we provide FTP address to client to upload the file on our FTP.

  • After reviewing the file, we will inform you the total conversion cost (MS Word or Kindle conversion) as per your need. We will also provide you the details on the time required for conversion and conversion restrictions if any based on your output conversion format.

  • After the payment is received, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is performed on the converted book.

  • The book is converted to the Kindle format and quality check is then performed.

  • Client is emailed the login ID and password for previewing the book on Kindle to review the file for any changes.

  • If there are corrections required, client can send us the complete list of changes in one email. We will make the changes as per the client's requirement (Keeping Kindle conversion standards in view) until you see the final output to your satisfaction.

  • After the final preview, we will send you the final file, which you can then upload in your kindle account.

  • After you publish the file in Amazon Kindle, your ebook is available for sale on Kindle within 72 hours.
Next steps for you to convert your Printed book into Kindle format.

We convert scanned file to kindle only for authors, publishers or anybody who has the copyright of the books. If the book is no longer copyright protected, then please provide us the details on it.
